Teiko Launches Custom Spectral Flow Cytometry Panels

December 22, 2025

Flexible, high-precision panel design for clinical immune profiling

Teiko announces the launch of Custom Spectral Flow Cytometry Panels, a new service designed for teams that need panels tailored to their drug targets, biology, and clinical trial goals.

Custom spectral panels enable teams to move beyond off-the-shelf panels by adding, swapping, or fully customizing markers to support mechanism of action studies, pharmacodynamic readouts, and dose selection in clinical trials. Panels can be built from Teiko’s validated 25-marker spectral backbone or designed entirely from scratch, depending on study needs.

Addressing the limitations of off-the-shelf cytometry panels

Many CROs offer custom cytometry panel development, but only deliver the final panel configuration. Details behind how the assay was built, such as antibody titration data or spillover assessments, are often omitted.

Without access to this information, sponsors may question whether observed shifts in immune cell frequencies are real or errors introduced by the panel design, undermining confidence in the data.

Teiko approaches custom spectral panels with transparency as a core principle in producing high-quality results. For every custom panel, we share all of the data that goes into the full panel build, including reagent and clone selection, titration data, spillover evaluation, and gating strategies used in development. Additional details are available on the panel development page.

By removing the black box, Teiko gives sponsors confidence in how their panel was developed and ensures custom panels remain an asset rather than a risk as programs progress.

Built on a validated backbone, designed around your biology

Teiko’s 25-marker spectral backbone panel reflects years of hands-on panel development and clinical cytometry experience. The backbone panel demonstrates mean intra- and inter-run coefficients of variation (CV) <5%, supporting consistent and reproducible immune measurements across runs.

Teams can add or swap one marker to target specific pathways, receptors, or functional states, or work with Teiko to design a fully custom panel aligned to their drug’s PDs and MOA.

Panels are available for human whole blood, PBMCs, and BMMCs. Optional validation using TokuKit preserved whole blood enables teams to assess marker stability across extended storage windows. Teiko has demonstrated 6-month stability with TokuKit on spectral flow, with immune population frequencies showing R >0.99 concordance to fresh blood.

‍How it works

Teiko partners closely with each team throughout the panel development process. Together, we design the panel, select optimal stimulation conditions and cell types for markers of interest, and assess panel performance across study-specific sample types.

Each panel undergoes fluorophore optimization to ensure strong marker separation and clean gating. All custom markers are run with FMO controls, and each project concludes with a comprehensive panel development report documenting performance and results.

Designed for clinical readiness

Custom Spectral Cytometry Panels are developed and run in Teiko’s CLIA-compliant laboratory, ensuring consistency, traceability, and readiness for use in clinical studies.

“You are blowing all other CROs out of the water. None of them are doing what you are doing. ” -Translational Scientist, Therapeutics Company
