Today, we are excited to announce our Sample Reliability Planner: planner.teiko-labs.com, a free, interactive tool designed to answer two distinct questions:
1. “How much blood do I need to collect to get a reliable reading of my cell?”
2. “If I have a fixed volume of blood, how reliable will my measurements be?”
This tool helps you answer exactly those questions. In doing so, you derisk your biomarker strategies and maximize the value of patient samples. The planner addresses a critical challenge in trial design: determining the right blood sample volume to reliably measure key immune cell populations, especially rare ones.
Under-collecting samples can jeopardize a trial endpoint, while over-collecting burdens patients. Our tool provides clear, data-driven answers to prevent these issues.
The planner offers two modes. Planning Mode calculates the required blood volume to achieve a desired level of data quality for a specific cell population. This helps ensure that pharmacodynamic (PD) endpoints are robust and can effectively demonstrate a drug's biological effect.
Conversely, Feasibility Mode allows trial designers working with a fixed sample volume to instantly forecast data reliability across hundreds of immune cell types. This helps prioritize analyses and manage expectations for which endpoints will be quantitative versus merely directional.
By transforming complex calculations into simple, actionable insights, our planner streamlines protocol design and builds confidence that a trial is set up for success. We built this tool to empower drug developers to make better-informed decisions, accelerating the path to bringing effective therapies to patients.
